Wirefly selling HTC EVO 4G tomorrow via Facebook
These days, trying to score an HTC EVO 4G is like trying to photograph a giant squid; you know that both exist, and it should technically be possible, but they are nearly impossible to find. Well, Wirefly has just dropped us a note to say that they have taken shipment of some EVOs and will be selling them tomorrow via Facebook. Here is the exact email we were just dealt:
Wirefly Reserving HTC EVOs for Facebook Fans!
Wirefly has received a cache of EVOs today! As you know, HTC Evos have been hard to come by online or in stores. Because of the huge demand for the amazingly hot superphone and the limited supply constraints, we are reserving this offer to our loyal Facebook fans. Sometime tomorrow, we will announce the HTC EVO 4G sale on Facebook– at a very special Wirefly price. To take advantage of this offer, customers must be a ‘fan’ of Wirefly. Gorgeous, mysterious, EVO-ish HTC device headed for Verizon
Remember that Verizon Wireless roadmap we leaked? Well, it’s all coming together pretty nicely. We have just got our hands on images of one of the upcoming HTC devices we wrote about. Our source describes the phone as being an EVO in a larger and more polished Nexus One body; brushed aluminum, very upper end of the market, you get the picture. “It makes the Droid 2 look like a kids toy,” our source told us. No word on if it is a global device, although… we’re betting it is. From what we can see the device has an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, kickstand, 4.3-inch screen, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and, wait for it… a front facing camera.
We don’t have a release date yet (or a name), but we’re already counting down the days until we can get one of these in our offices.

Sprint’s EVO 4G rooted… again
We are a little late on reporting this one, as it got lost in the DROID Incredible melee that happened yesterday afternoon, however the Sprint EVO 4G — running Android 2.2 — has been rooted. The good people over at xda-developers have the write-up ready to go, although there is this warning:
My advice would just be to READ very carefully
through all the STEPS. It’s very easy to get confused if
your are just excited about it and are
trying to finish as soon as possible.
You’ve been warned! If you need the “roots” give the tutorial a shot. Enjoy!
